Roland V Drum Hi Hat Fix

Roland V-Drum TD-12 Hi-Hat CLACK fix! Finally!

I have a set of Roland TD-12 V-Drums and love them because I can whip on the skins while the tots are having fantastic dreams. Only problem with that is the hi-hat mechanism is really noisy. I asked Roland about it and they wanted me to adjust the "tilt wheel" fully in one direction or the other until the noise stopped. No luck.

After trips to the "music store" and asking other V-drummers about this, I got nowhere. Since I could hear the "CLACK!" sound every time I stepped on the pedal, it was pretty obvious there was contact somewhere so out of frustrated curiosity, I kept looking. Voila!

Thanks to "one-wrap" VELCRO! (the kind with the hooks on one side and the fuzzy stuff on the other side - it's nylon, durable, soft, the right thickness...almost. Since there is a slight gap now, the hats do not close with precision tuning but compared to the CLACK every time I stepped on the pedal, I'll suffer and get used to it.

Hope this helps, I sure am digging it!
