August 5, 2025 — We’re loading up with a full trailer of dog treats in Miami, Oklahoma and heading westbound toward Hereford, Texas, where the delivery is scheduled for tomorrow morning.

Today’s goal: make it as close to the receiver as possible before shutting down for the night.

The route rolls us southwest through the Great Plains, starting on I-44, merging onto I-40, then heading south on I-27, and finally west on US-60. We pass through wide-open farmland, cattle country, and some long, straight stretches of rural highway that define this part of the country. Expect grain elevators on the horizon, dusty service towns, and lots of sky — it’s a classic stretch of America’s freight network.

This trip might be short, but it’s a solid day of rolling iron west through a region where freight never stops.
