At a rally of Jatiya Party (JPA) workers in Rangpur, co-chairman and former city mayor Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa said that even if they are Awami League leaders, former MPs or supporters, if they have a clean image and no cases or allegations of violence, they will get nominations if they join the Jatiya Party.
He said that the JPA wants to field candidates for 300 seats. However, if qualified and strong candidates are found, they will be nominated to overcome the party crisis.
Mostafa said that the Jatiya Party has not done anything to be banned, but rather people across the country are still looking at the JPA. He further alleged that anti-liberation forces are conspiring to put BNP in danger.
Central and local leaders of the JPA were present at the rally.
