Deng Shuixi was born in 1930s rural China during a severe drought. Shuixi’s parents were desperate for life. But unexpectedly, on the day of Shuixi’s birth, the rain fell from the sky and came to life, thus earning the newborn the name Shui (water). Similarly, Shuixi has grown into a strong woman full of vitality, life and always holding hope.
