The Rainbow Lorikeet is a spectacular species of Parrot that is widespread on the Australian Continent. They are often seen flying overhead at great speed in pairs and small flocks.
They are raucous and dominate many other species as they feed on nectar and seed.

Other species of Lorikeet, such as Scaly Breasted take a back seat when competing for a nesting hollow.

Rainbow Lorikeets also become tame around garden feeders and gather in large groups where bulk feed becomes available.
