Wandering Around This Texas Desert Town

Today we are going to go for a walk and check out a little town in southwestern Texas called Marathon.

My brother recently moved here and I had to come to check out his new surroundings and see why he moved to this small town with just 365 people.

This town doesn't exactly have a whole lot to offer but what it does have is an old historic hotel, a hotel that my brother is now working at.

Since he had to work, I decided to get out on my own and do some jalan jalan(walking around) on my own. I first check out the Gage Gardens (part of the Gage Hotel, obviously)

There I met a couple people who were just passing through and decided to stop and have a look for themselves. There isn't exactly a lot to see out here so when you get a chance to stop, take it!

I then got hungry and saw a bright red food truck on the side of the road they were cooking up some delicious chili cheese burgers, YUM!

We then check out the town by car because well, even though it's a small town, it's much easier to see everything when you're driving.

I will say this is a very quiet community. Not like in Indonesia, where it feels like the whole neighborhood is outside on the front porch or on the streets riding their bikes or playing games.

I will be checking out more of Marathon in a future video, specifically the Gage Hotel, but for now, I just wanted to do some exploring around town and see what this town had to offer, (and spoiler, it's not a lot!)
