Veronica Swift's star in the jazz firmament is currently shining brighter than ever before. Just 30 years old, she is one of the stars of a new generation of female jazz singers, combining perfect intonation, absolute pitch and a musicality that comes as naturally as no one else.

“Veronica Swift is a woman of many voices, and she uses every one of them to refract a dizzying kaleidoscope of moods” — DownBeat

Born to two musical parents, jazz pianist Hod O'Brien and singer Stephanie Nakasian, she found her way into jazz music at an unusually early age and recorded her first album at the age of 9. From then on, she embarked on an impressive career, playing in renowned clubs in her teens and graduating at the age of 20. In 2015 she was runner-up at the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition, the most prestigious jazz competition in the world, and in 2019 she was crowned Best New Artist by Jazztimes. During this time in particular, she became known for her bebop interpretations, which took her to dizzying heights of virtuosity. She has played at the biggest jazz festivals and in the best clubs in the world and has worked with artists such as Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at the Lincoln Centre Big Band, Benny Green, Emmet Cohen and many more.

She has been signed to Mack Avenue Records since 2019 and released her third, self-titled album for the renowned label in 2023. On her previous albums Confessions (2019) and This Bitter Earth (2021), her virtuosic brilliance, interpretive ingenuity, energetic songwriting and astute arrangements propelled her into the top echelon of early 21st century jazz singers. But whether it's French and Italian opera, European classical music, bossa nova, blues, funk or vaudeville, Veronica Swift masters every genre with her impressive vocal versatility.
