Buried beneath modern London, Tony Robinson and the team have just three days to find the remains of the Victorian workshops on the banks of the River Wandle. They must piece together the entire industrial process, from dyeing and hand block-printing to the final finishing, rediscovering the forgotten skills that made Liberty's designs world-famous.

As Phil Harding gets his hands dirty uncovering walls and water culverts, the team faces one of their most frustrating digs, finding deep rubble where buildings should be. Arts and Crafts historian Steven Callaway explains the radical importance of these textiles, while the team attempts to replicate the intricate block-printing process themselves. From uncovering a reused medieval chapel to identifying the exact location of the print sheds and dye house, this is a complex dig where historical documents and archaeology combine to bring a lost industrial art back to life.
