We knew the flight to get us to Lukla, our starting point for the trek to Everest was going to be a scary one. The scenery was amazing, but that little plane flying through the mountains with packs of clouds all over was pretty sketchy. Especially the landing which comes out of nowhere, you come in straight off a cliff and have to stop quickly or you run into a hill. While we were on the trek a similar plane went down killing all 19 aboard. You can image how the flight home was even scarier. The Tenzing-Hillary airport in Lukla is widely known to be one of the most dangerous in the world.
