TTPOA Conference 2023: Tactical Training HRVE

This is our highlight video from the Texas Tactical Police Officers Association (TTPOA) Conference in 2023 in Round Rock, Texas.

We taught our High Risk Vehicle Encounters course 2 days in a row to a great group of guys and a lady. Most the officers in the course work in some capacity on a SWAT team.
The purpose of this course is to teach officers how to win a lethal engagement from their vehicle without shooting through there windshield. Every engagement is a test of speed and accuracy. The reason we teach this tactic is because we believe this is the fastest way to put guaranteed rounds on the bad guy the fastest.

As law enforcement officers we are married to our vehicle. That is why vehicle tactics is an important part, if not the most important part of tactical training. It is highly likely you will be either in an engagement from your vehicle or at least presented with a lethal threat while you are in your vehicle. Vehicles should be as important to your police training as CQB.

Simunition and force on force training is extremely important. With simunition training it allows you to get as close as possible to replicate real life encounters.
