In this tell-all video, Burr Stewart describes all the steps he took to get his new ScaleTrains BN SD45's from the carton to hauling a train on his HO scale model railroad. The new BN SD45's are a perfect addition to his 1973 era Burlington Northern-based layout, set in the Seattle area. He demonstrates (im)proper unpacking, testing, breaking in, changing couplers (to Kadee #146 in front, #147 in rear), reprogramming decoders (with screenshots from LokProgrammer & JMRI), documenting, weathering, and many other steps to the process. The video ends with five minutes of pure railfanning fun, as three of these 3600 horsepower monstrosities haul a freight train downhill from Skykomish to Everett, WA.
