“There are a lot of research opportunities and once I got involved with it, I fell in love with it,” says John Seykora, MD, PHD.

Before making a diagnosis, a group of 6 or 7 dermatopathologists will meet under a multi-headed microscope to examine some of the most difficult dermatology cases. “It’s a meeting of the minds with a breadth of expertise that ensures an accurate diagnosis,” Dr. Seykora says.
Program Director Rosalie Elenitsas, MD, agrees. She explains in this video, “Consensus conference is very important to patient care because if you are diagnosed with malignant melanoma it’s a very serious diagnosis and you really want to be comfortable that that truly is the diagnosis.”
