Bangladesh village houses shine bright with colorful folk arts আলপনা গ্রাম (The Alpona Village) Almost all the houses in a village in Bangladesh's Chapainawabganj district, some 302 km northwest of the capital Dhaka, are adorned with traditional art called Alpona. In Tikoil village, every mud house wall is a canvas, and their inhabitants are artisans. The colorful motifs on the exterior walls of the houses have won the village the fame of "Alpona Gram” or the art village of the country. Motifs on as many as 50 houses in the village are drawn by women.They have been doing this for hundreds of years. Because of this, the village has been named Alpana village. Many people from the country and abroad rushed to see this aesthetic beauty of Tikiil village.
টিকইল,নাচোল,চাঁপাইনবাবগঞ্জ,রাজশাহী জেলার নাচোল উপজেলার ছোট একটা গ্রাম টিকইল (Tikoil)। কিন্তু গ্রামটি আলপনা গ্রাম (The Alpona Village / A village of Alpona) নামে পরিচিত। গ্রামের প্রতিটি মাটির ঘরের দেয়াল যেনো উন্মুক্ত ক্যানভাস। মূলত আলপনা গুলো গ্রামের গৃহিণী এবং মেয়েরা অংকন করে থাকে। বছরের পর বছর ধরে গ্রামের মানুষ বংশ পরম্পরায় এই ঐতিহ্যেকে লালন করে আসছে। গ্রামের মানুষের নিজেদের তৈরি রং থেকে আলপনা গুলো আঁকা হয়। রং তৈরির কাঁচামাল আসে মাটি থেকে। আলপনার মাধ্যমে মাটির দেয়ালগুলোতে স্থান পায় ফুল, পশু, পাখি, গাছপালা ইত্যাদি।
