The Beatles - Matchbox - Guitar Cover

Описание к видео The Beatles - Matchbox - Guitar Cover

John Lennon plays lead guitar while using his whammy bar on this Carl Perkins cover. The first few notes of the solo are double tracked, with the double tracked part quickly fading in and then quickly fading back out moments later. John played the solo on the BBC recordings and early in the Beatles' career, but it interested me to find out that George let John play the solo on the recorded version considering his hero and writer of the song, Carl Perkins, was at Abbey Road to observe the session. Notice how John does a little "walk-up" to the D chord during some of the verses. At the end of the guitar solo, George plays a B7#9 chord as a quick turnaround into the verse, but it is not shown in this video.
