A little tribute to the pre-code films of Robert Young (1907-1998). Before he was known for "Father Knows Best" and "Marcus Welby, M.D.", Young was a popular leading man, but didn't always get the roles that he deserved. In the pre-code era, he played supporting and lead roles, from a married man romancing a mountain girl (Katharine Hepburn), to a WW1 soldier who decides to "live in sin" with his fiancee (Joan Crawford), and a rebellious son of a wallpaper businessman who decides to be an artist in Paris, have one-night stand with a fellow student (Myrna Loy) and at the same time, be somewhat abnormally close to his sister (Margaret Perry). These are just three of the movies from that era that he appeared in. Song by Ella Fitzgerald. He was handsome and watchable, always!
