Meaning of E-HRM:
E-HRM is "the one kind of management function concerned with e-hiring, e-motivating and
e-maintaining people in an organisation.

Features of E-HRM:
(1) Web - based HRM :
e-HRM is information technology (IT) based HRM. It concerned with e-HR activities based on web-based HR programmes. It use web-based technologies to provide HRM services within the organisations.

(2) Different from HRIS :
HRIS is a system for collecting, storing, maintaining and retrieving the data needed by an organisation about its human resources and HRM activities. E-HRM is different from HRIS (Human Resource Information System) e-HRM provides technological support of information regarding HR services.

(3) Innovative practices :
During the last decade, HRM has been adapting to a variety of changes, improvements and technology. It becomes more innovative in 21st century
Following innovative practices can be used by HR manager:
(a) Receiving online job application.
(b) Using blogs for providing information
(c) Interviewing via video or telephone
(d) e-learning and e-development programmes, etc.

(4) More scientific :
E-HRM is more scientific to compare traditional HRM. It integrates theoretical concepts from the academic domains of HRM and management of IT. It provides more effectiveness to the organisations. It also reduced time, cost and energy of the organisations.

(5) Procuring personnel :
It aims at procuring personnel with proper skill, ability and intelligence. It thus includes
e-recruitment, e-selection, e-placement and
e-learning of employees.

(6) Complete integration of HR systems :
E-HRM is the complete integration of all HR systems and processes. It based on common human resource data and information and on interdependent tools and processes.

(7) More Flexible :
E-HRM is the more flexible in nature. e-HRM has the potential to change all traditional HRM functions. E-HRM policies can be easily changed according to changes in circumstances.
