OneDrive automatically creates albums with past pictures you’ve taken on the same day but years ago. And, when it does that, it displays a daily On this day notification encouraging you to look back at your memories. While some people like this feature, others don’t and want to turn OneDrive memories off.

In OneDrive, you can disable the on this day memories feature to stop those Your memories from this day emails from reaching your inbox, notifications popping up on Windows 11, or disable the memories album creation in the Photos app, and in this tutorial, you will learn how to disable or turn off notification.

Turn off memories notifications from OneDrive (web):
1. Open OneDrive (web).
2. Click the Settings (gear) menu and click on Options.
3. Click on Notifications from the left navigation pane.
4. Clear the On this day memories are available option.
5. Click the Save button.

Turn off memories notifications from OneDrive (Windows 11):
1. Click the System Tray OneDrive icon and click on Help & Settings.
2. Choose the Settings option.
3. Click on Notifications from the left navigation pane.
4. Turn off the Notify me when On this day memories are available toggle switch.

Using Windows Registry Editor:
1. To open the Registry Editor, press the Windows button + R, write regedit in the Run box and press Enter on the computer keyboard.
2. You will get a User Account Control prompt, select Yes to continue.
3. Once the editor panel is open, locate the following path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\OneDrive\Accounts\Personal
4. On the left side, right-click on the Personal folder and select New and click DWORD (32-bit) Value
5. Rename the value as OnThisDayPhotoNotificationDisabled, double-click it, and set the Value data as 1.
6. Select OK to complete the process and restart your computer to effect the changes.
