Born/raised in Bloomfield, New Jersey, enlisted in the Marine Corps on 10 Nov 1942.
Sent to Telephone school & assigned as a Field Lineman/Switchboard operator. After assigned to the 23rd Marines/25th Marines, transferred to Pioneers Co. Later transitioned to the Joint Assault Signal Co. Roy made landings on Roi Namur (2nd wave), Saipan (4th wave), Tinian (5th wave) & Iwo Jima (4th wave). Discharged 1945. He worked with a pharmaceutical co. & returned to school obtaining an MBA from Rutgers University. Later became a professor, finishing his career as the Chairman of the Business Dept/Dean for Casco Bay College. Concluded his role as the 4th MarDiv Association National President from 2005 to 2006.
