For many metal and hardcore music fans, The Dillinger Escape Plan’s debut album Calculating Infinity was a revelation, like the arrival of something they’d waited their whole lives for without knowing exactly what that was … until it hit in 1999. It was such a landmark album in the realm of hardcore music. The band went on to record five more albums over a 17 year with replacement vocalist Greg Puciato but Calculating Infinity was the only full-length album to feature original vocalist Dimitri Minakakis. Consequently it was quite a big deal when the band got back together in June 2024 in Brooklyn after an 8-year hiatus, with Dimitri out front to begin playing live shows to commemorate their groundbreaking first record.

And now THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN have reformed for one last epic tour to celebrate the anniversary of their landmark album, Calculating Infinity and they’re coming to Australia in August.

The promoters are not at all surprised to announce The Dillinger Escape Plan show at The Northcote Theatre in Melbourne on August 13 has SOLD OUT! Second and final show on August 14 now on sale. There will be no more shows added to the tour and there will be no "venue upgrades". This is it!

Ahead of the much anticipated The Dillinger Escape Plan Australian tour, Australian Musician editor Greg Phillips caught up with the band’s guitarist and founding member Ben Weinman to take about the band’s career, the making of Calculating Infinity, his gear and the upcoming Australian tour.
