FANUC America is proud to present the 2019 System of the Year Award to AGT Robotics for their BeamMaster automated structural steel beam welding system.

BeamMaster from AGT Robotics is a self-programing robotic welding cell designed to answer all the welding needs of low-volume/high-mix production for structural steel fabricators. A typical building can consist of thousands of unique beams. BeamMaster is designed to fabricate most steel assemblies and accessories for structural steel buildings in a variety of weld types. It accepts W Beams, HSS profiles and even tapered beams, and compatible accessories include angles, stiffeners, base plates, end plates and other standard parts.

The system layout includes a small footprint consisting of two pairs of rotators, two zones, and one FANUC welding robot with one weld source for a complete package. Also included is AGT Robotics’ CORTEX, a complete software package linked to FANUC robots. After a beam is loaded, this user friendly system will translate all the virtual information and adapt it to real parts, providing easy setup and the highest quality welds through robotic automation from FANUC. Since every part is different, robots would need to be programmed for each piece. CORTEX software from AGT Robotics is the first of its kind in the world able to self-program and automatically generate required welds from 3D CAD software. CORTEX is able to create hundreds of robotic programs automatically, making it an ideal way for fabricators get up and running with robotic welding.
