Farming is a tough gig in any country, and in Australia, our vast and often remote landscapes add an extra layer of challenge and isolation. Tragically, farmers here face one of the highest suicide rates in the nation—up to 94% higher than non-farmers. On average, one farmer dies by suicide every 10 days. These heartbreaking statistics shine a spotlight on the urgent need to support the mental health and well-being of the men and women who feed us.

In 2024, we set out to host two Farmer Wellness Retreats, created to nurture and uplift our farmers as they continue their vital work as stewards of the land. These retreats offered a much-needed space for rest, reconnection, and renewal—prioritising physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Through these gatherings, we aimed to remind our farmers that they are not alone and that their well-being is essential to the health of their families, communities, and the landscapes they so deeply care for.

These weekends were nothing short of transformative – a heartfelt opportunity for our land stewards and food producers to recharge, reconnect, and invest in their well-being. By prioritising themselves, these incredible individuals are better equipped to show up for their families, communities, and the planet, embodying the resilience and care that regeneration calls for.
