Making a sourdough starter is a simple process that involves mixing flour and water and allowing wild yeast and bacteria to ferment over time.

Day 1: Begin the Starter
1. In a jar, mix 50 grams (about 1/4 cup) of flour and 50 grams (about 1/4 cup) of water. Stir until smooth. The consistency should be like thick pancake batter.
2. Cover the jar loosely to allow airflow (use a breathable cover).
3. Leave it at room temperature (ideally 20–24°C or 68–75°F).
