Sad news in the wrestling world with the passing of the legendary Tim White and Dave Hebner.

Dave Hebner was the twin-brother of fellow legendary referee Earl Hebner.
Hebner debuted as a professional wrestling referee in the late 1970s in the Richmond, Virginia area. Dave was the referee for many legendary matches in the history of the World Wrestling Federation, including Randy Savage vs. Ricky Steamboat at WrestleMania 3 and Hulk Hogan vs. Randy Savage at WrestleMania 5.
After retiring as a referee, he became a Road Agent for the company and worked for WWE till 2005.
The most famous moment of Dave’s WWF career came on the February 5, 1988 episode of WWF The Main Event, where Andre The Giant defeated Hulk Hogan to win the WWF Championship by ending Hogan's 4-year long title reign. The twin-referee angle was done in this match, where Ted DiBiase locked Dave in a closet and Earl Hebner was switched in his place, who did a fast count and made Hogan lose, despite Hogan’s shoulder being up.
Both of them then stood in the ring at the same time and everyone was shocked.

After the passing of Dave Hebner, another legendary WWF referee has passed away – Tim White. He was 68 years old.
For more than 2 decades, Tim White was a dedicated WWE referee and official. White began his career in 1985 working with Andre the Giant and as a part-time referee.

During his tenure, he was the referee for some of WWE’s biggest matches, including the infamous Hell in a Cell Match between Undertaker and Mankind at King of the Ring 1998.
A shoulder injury effectively ended White’s in-ring career, but White still remained a major part of WWE working behind the scenes as an official and talent agent until 2009.
On April 10, 2018 White appeared in numerous interviews in the HBO documentary André the Giant. He also appeared on WWE's Most Wanted Treasures in June 2021.

Many reacted to the recent news via social media to give their condolences to family and friends of Hebner and White including Big E, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, The Bella Twins, X-Pac Sean Waltman, Brian James Road Dogg, Michael P.S. Hayes, Bully Ray, Matt Hardy, Edge, Dana Brooke and many more.
