Ingredients (serves 4)

• 1 ½ cups dry chickpeas
• 4 cups water
• 500g / 3 ½ cups fresh or frozen broad beans
• 1 cup chopped fresh coriander (stems and leaves)
• 1 cup chopped fresh parsley (stems and leaves)
• 4 cloves garlic, crushed
• 4 spring onions, sliced
• 1/2 cup chickpea flour
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1/4 tsp ground pepper, optional
• 1 tbsp ground cumin, optional
• 1 tsp ground coriander, optional
• 2 tbsp oil
