Who was Patient HM?

Описание к видео Who was Patient HM?

For decades, one of the most famous patients in neuroscience was a man who lost most of his hippocampus after a radical treatment for extreme epilepsy. Though he passed away in 2008, his unique brain still informs neuroscientists today. At the 2016 World Science Festival, neuroscientist Daphna Shohamy discussed HM's legacy and our shifting understanding of the science of memory.

The World Science Festival gathers great minds in science and the arts to produce live and digital content that allows a broad general audience to engage with scientific discoveries. Our mission is to cultivate a general public informed by science, inspired by its wonder, convinced of its value, and prepared to engage with its implications for the future.
