Knee extension is crucial for everyday movements like walking, running, and climbing stairs, but sometimes restrictions can be present and limit one’s range of motion.

The prone anterior tibial glide joint mobilization shown in this video can be an effective technique for improving knee extension mobility.

In this technique, the knee is placed in a slightly bent position while a posterior-to-anterior force is applied to the tibia. This mobilization targets the tibiofemoral joint, where the tibia meets the femur, and helps address any stiffness or tightness that may be impairing movement.

Stretching and strengthening the muscles surrounding the knee is also important to implement in conjunction with joint mobilizations.
