The Sahara desert covers more than 90% of Algeria's total area. In 2018, it was home to a population of 3,600,000 inhabitants, or 10.5% of the Algerian population.

A group of travelers went with Travel Journalist of the Year, Autumn Phillips (Editor at Large for the Post & Courier Newspaper) to experience Djanet, the Jewel of the Sahara desert which is a town in the south-eastern corner of Algeria, home to the largest national park in Africa and more.

We didn't know what to expect, and now it is one of our favorite trips ever!
