We have to celebrate that we're 100 'rare music' community. So, first of all, thank you so much for staying here. For that purpose, I've tried my first long-duration video. A very interesting sonata by the czech composer Jan Ladislav Dussek (1760-1812). As you can see, that sonata has his equal with Beethoven's finest compositions of the genere.

The first movement, the allegro-sonata starts witch such tension and drama (rapid scales, repetitions, low register, syncopes and frenetic rhythms) and suddenly exposes a lovely second group of themes. In the development we can see how far can Dussek go with the main motive and their loable counterpoint skills. Throw the recapitulation, the sonata ends with a very interesting decrescendo.

The second movement, a menuet in canon, has a very serious treatment; while the trio is very charming because of the texture.

The adagio is the perfect occasion to develop the lyrical abilities, as Dussek does, going throw a somewhere land between Beethoven, Chopin, Schubert... especially in the middle section.

The final rondò, very unique in his genere is a movement where the composer creates different and eclectic atmospheres one after the other.
