Uni Squad is a browser strategy game that could be best described as an idle upgrader that immediately throws off the players with its basic, almost placeholder level of graphics. In the game, players are tasked with stopping waves of enemies approach their position using upgrades and hero purchases. But, once the Uni Squad gameplay starts to develop, the game begins to become interesting. Here, the things players can influence is the position of their heroes (which cover everything from tanks to sword-wielding knights) and the passive-active skills they possess.

The passive ones are auto-triggered, but the active ones are under the control of the players, advanced by a standard XP system for each individual hero they possess. Further on, new stages are unlocked gradually and this opens new levels of challenges. After a few minutes when the RPG part of the game kicks in, it is easy to see why someone would choose to play Uni Squad for quite some time. Too bad the visuals are so exceedingly poor.
