August 16 2023 marked the 75th anniversary of the inauguration of trolley bus service by BC Electric in 1948.
With cooperation by Translink that helped the Transit Museum Society prepare the vintage buses and allow use of the overhead trolley network, free rides were given around a loop in downtown Vancouver from 9AM - 4PM.
The buses were Canadian Car & Foundry Brill trolleys. 1947 T44 35 foot #2040 BC Electric from the first trolley order and 1954 T48A 40 foot #2416 BC Hydro from the final trolley order.
