World champion trainer Troy Compton joins Clinton for a conversation about how he built his legendary career, tips for success in life and the equine industry, and how his biggest challenges forged his success. 

Troy is recognized as one of the top western pleasure riders in American Quarter Horse Association history. He’s a three-time AQHA World Champion and a 12-time Congress Champion and one of only a handful of trainers to win a world championship in western pleasure in the AQHA, the American Paint Horse Association, the Palomino Horse Breeders Association, the Appaloosa Horse Club, and the Pinto Horse Association.

Throughout his career, Troy’s trained and ridden standout horses such as Skips Special Barb, Beretta McCue, Good Version, Radical Rumors, and Zippos Tiger Bar.

After accomplishing his goals in the western pleasure world, Troy set his focus on marketing all-around horses. He built top-level horses and coached riders to success in the show pen. Two years ago, he switched his focus to reining and is enjoying working with his clients and learning the sport at his barn in Oklahoma.
