In short, if you need a tough case that can take a beating, look pretty, carry a few cards, mount magnetically and still be able to charge your iPhone wirelessly, then you should get the Mous Limitless 3.0.

Now if you don’t need all those extra accessories? Should you still get the Mous Limitless 3.0? Keep reading to see what I think.

The third iteration of the Limitless has several notable upgrades. And that’s awesome to see when companies actually try. I’ve been reviewing cases for years now and have become quite jaded when a company says “new and improved”.

But that’s not the case with Mous’s iPhone 11 lineup. It’s pretty great.

00:02:26 Design

Overall, you’ll notice that the Mous Limitless 3.0 is larger than the 2.0 version. When installing your phone in the case, you’ll also notice that Mous included a micro-fibre pack to provide extra scratch protection for the back of your iPhone.

In terms of design finishes, you might notice that the 3.0 doesn’t offer the plain white coloured case, or the shell covering finish. But there are five finishes with some interesting textures and materials to choose from (Aramid fibre, black leather, white leather, walnut, and my personal fav, bamboo.)

The auto-align system in the Mous 3.0 has been updated to Auto-align+ so you can stick your phone on the mount, worry and slippage free. The case uses a ring of one-way magnets, instead of three dots, to reduce interference.

00:05:16 Functionality

The exterior of the Mous case is similar to that of its predecessor in a couple of ways. The Mous 3.0 has tapered edges along the middle of the case. These edges allow you to gesture easily on your iPhone, just like the 2.0. The updated version allows you to access everything on the iPhone, including the volume buttons.

The large magnetic mounting system is quite secure and easy to use. It doesn’t get in the way of Qi-wireless charging either.

Now the Auto-algn+ systems allows you to take your iPhone further. And that’s the big reason why the Limitless 3.0 case is one of the best cases for the iPhone 11. You have the option of a wall mount, vent mount and a suction cup mount and two wallet options.

For me, the most disappointing thing with the Limitless 3.0 is the updated flip wallet. I really liked the flip wallet on the Limitless 2.0 because it came with a flap that held the wallet together if you had a bit more stuff in it. The updated wallet still has a secret pocket but it’s on the inside of the front flap instead of the back.

00:09:13 Should you get the Mous Limitless 3.0?

So back to the question I asked at the beginning of the video, if you don’t need all these extra features, should you still get the Limitless 3.0? The answer is no. Get the Mous Contour. It’s thinner, lighter and handles better. And it’s just as tough.

00:11:14 Protection

Now, much like a triple-layered dessert, this triple-layered case offers satisfaction for its intended purpose. Where most cases are only PC and TPU, the The Mous 3.0 is made from PC, TPU and TPE. Some cases are just TPU and have crazy claims like ones from Laut who claim to have crazy drop protection.

While the 3.0 isn’t as slim as the previous version, the bulkier back does come with its benefits. It’s like hiring a bodyguard named Gary -- you might scoff at the name but the added bulk will offer extreme impact protection for the glass on the back of the iPhone.

And just in case your iPhone lands face first, the oversized corners offer some protection for your screen. The rigid back of the case also ensures the corners don’t come off. No surprises after that dreaded moment when your phone hits the ground. Now even with how tough this cases, how rigid it is, I’d still recommend that you get a screen protector to go with it.
