Lecturers from the BSc (Hons) Psychology at Birkbeck give a flavour of the courses and subjects that students study. At the start of their programme students are introduced to psychology and its methods, focusing on clinical psychology and the biological basis of behaviour. Building on these foundations, students then gain insight into the main areas of psychology: social psychology; individual differences; child and adult development; cognitive psychology; and psychobiology. At the most advanced level of study students finish their training in research methods, working in groups and then independently to complete research projects. They also choose between a range of options taught by world-leading researchers.
