Captain Pawan Kumar was an officer in the Indian Army, serving in the elite Para Special Forces unit. Born in 1993 in Jind, Haryana, Pawan Kumar was an exceptionally bright and brave individual. He cleared the National Defence Academy (NDA) exam and went on to join the Indian Military Academy (IMA), from where he was commissioned into the Para Special Forces.

Capt. Pawan Kumar gained widespread recognition for his heroic actions during counter-terrorism operations. He was part of several missions, but one of the most notable was during an operation in Pampore, Jammu and Kashmir, in February 2016. During a fierce encounter with terrorists who had holed up in a government building, Captain Pawan led his team from the front. Despite being critically injured, he continued to fight and ultimately sacrificed his life while eliminating the terrorists.

For his extraordinary bravery and leadership, Captain Pawan Kumar was posthumously awarded the Shaurya Chakra, one of India's highest peacetime gallantry awards.

His life and sacrifice continue to inspire many, especially young people who look up to him for his selflessness, courage, and love for the nation.
