The Saiga has a nose that droops down over its mouth, almost like a trunk. This nose is covered in fine hairs that filter out dust and sand, allowing the Saiga to breathe in the dusty, arid environments where it lives. But that's not all - the Saiga's nose also plays a role in regulating its body temperature. When it's hot outside, the Saiga can dilate the blood vessels in its nose, allowing more blood to flow through and cool down.
