Howard Johnson hits his 8th HR of 1990 in the next inning off Benes San Diego trailing by five runs late in the game try to comeback scoring a run in the 8th after a lead off Double by Fred Lynn. Then a pair of runs in the ninth taking out David Cone bringing in John Franco to end the Padres threat picking up his 8th save of the season as Cone gets the win his 1st of the season while Andy Benes takes the loss, his 4th despite pitching a good ballgame.
