Maybe he can also see where the water has been coming in from the roof or if he can't find the roof leak entrance he will at least be able to check everything out & it might rain again within the next few days & if he's still here then he can come back up in the attic when it's raining to see where the water is coming in at so he can then know where to go up on the roof to patch the roof.
