The Nikon P1000 is being Discontinued! What is next for Ultra Zoom?

There comes a time in every piece of technologies lifecycle that it becomes obsolete and something new and shiny replaces it.

But what if you aren't replaced? What if you are such a unicorn piece of tech that no one can even come close to what you do?

The #nikon P1000 came into this world in 2018, younger brother to the Nikon P900 and overall middle child in Nikons ultrazoom Coolpix range.

This was the only place it was Mid though, as it spent the next 6 years as the kind of the Ultrazoom camera with no amount of Smart phone Digital or AI zoom coming close to replicating its all in one ability to zoom to the moon.

Sadly it now appears the #p1000 is set to be discontinued as Nikon continues to shift focus, leaving only the P950 behind.
