HOPLITE vs EVERY UNIT | Age of Empires: Definitive Edition

The Hoplite is an infantry unit in Age of Empires that can be trained at the Academy. It is the weakest of the elite infantry units that are trained at the Academy in the Bronze Age. However, they are great at countering cavalry.
Hoplites are elite infantry units with a high amount of damage. They can easily bring units down, but are relatively slow and vulnerable to archer fire and conversion. Hence, they are best used in hand-to-hand combat. The Hoplite can be upgraded to the more powerful Phalanx, and finally to the Centurion, the most powerful elite infantry unit. The Greeks have the fastest Hoplites.

Hoplites are available to all civilizations except for the Persians.

Age of Empires is the original real-time strategy computer game set in historical antiquity. The game was developed by Ensemble Studios and published by Microsoft. It was first released in North America on October 15, 1997.

Age of Empires was later updated with the The Rise of Rome expansion pack, which added several new units and civilizations as well as additional features that enhanced gameplay efficiency and aesthetics.

A remastered version was announced on June 12, 2017 and released on February 20, 2018.
