Here's a 2009 Honda Fit that we recently outfitted with a Thule
Traverse roof rack system. The complete base rack includes the Thule
480 Traverse Foot Pack, plus the Thule Fit Kit 1465 (KIT1465) and the
Thule LB50 50 Inch Load Bars. The attachment to the vehicle is very
secure using custom shaped rubber base pads that attach to the bottom
of each foot and rubberized metal brackets that attach into the feet
and grip into the vehicle's door frame. Nothing but protective rubber
ever touches the vehicle's finish so there is no concern about harming
the paint. The is absolutely no drilling required and the rack is
easily removed and reinstalled so the roof rack does not have to stay
on top of the vehicle full time. This roof rack has a fixed placement
of the bars as outlined in the instructions and the distance from
front to rear bar is 29.5 inches which is appropriate to support a
wide range of carriers and loads. The maximum weight capacity evenly
distributed on the two bar is 110 pounds. If you need extra carrying
