What are these recordings?
Over 100 praise and worship songs for kids were selected with the emphasis that we are all children of God, God’s love for us is steadfast and unconditional, and Jesus is our guide and friend. The songs are a blend of familiar and new, words and tunes. A keyboard and amateur vocals (myself, my daughter, and my sister) were used to demonstrate each song. You do not need to be a professional to praise the lord!
Are the songs copyrighted?
NO. All the songs are public domain. Sheet music, lead sheet, words, and audio accompaniments are provided for each song. The audio accompaniments include vocal/keyboard and keyboard only. All this material is available for FREE.
For each song, just screenshot the sheet music, lead sheet and words with your phone, tablet, computer, etc. and print the material from your device. Audio accompaniments can be used for practices and community use. As a former music director, finding copyright free sheet music was a challenge. These videos were made to provide sheet music, lead sheets and words in a simple way – screenshots!
Am I allowed to share the music and audio recordings with others?
Yes, yes, yes! Please do share and encourage others to do the same!
What is the age range for these songs?
The songs are for kids ranging in age from preschool to early teens. Some songs are appropriate for kids of all ages while other are best suited for specific age groups. The Worship Songs for Kids Index shared in each video provides age range suggestions for all the songs.
Where can kids sing these songs?
The worship songs are relevant for Sunday School, Children’s Church, Vacation Bible School, Youth Group, Mid-week Worship Services, Christian Summer Camp, and other occasions where kids gather to worship. Many of the songs are appropriate for children and youth to sing in adult worship services.
How do I keep the kids engaged while singing the songs?
Kids have lots of energy so finding ways to keep them engaged and on task while singing is challenging. Some options to consider are easy and intuitive hand motions and/or body movements, music volume and/or tempo changes, and echo singing to name a few. For some songs, sitting in a circle may help to control the wiggles. Repetitive hand motions are incredibly helpful for keeping the lower age groups engaged.
Older kids enjoy singing in harmony, which may be accomplished by singing in a round. (Screenshot the Worship Rounds Index below.) Singing in a round requires concentration and hearing themselves singing in harmony gives the kids a great sense of satisfaction and accomplishment.
If kids ask to sing a song again, then you know they are engaged!
