Gabriel Luna is set to play the role of the Terminator in the latest 2019 reboot directed by Tim Miller (Deadpool) and produced by James Cameron (Terminator 1 and 2).
Gabriel is perhaps best known for his role of Robbie Reyes / Ghost Rider in the Marvel TV series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
He also starred in the TV series Matador as DEA agent Tony Bravo, recruited by the CIA to participate in tryouts for the LA Riot.
At the moment details of Terminator 6 are limited apart from some behind the scenes shots, and a new promo shot of the leading female cast.
However Gabriel Luna has been posting some teasing shots on his Instagram account, including showing some insights into his training.
From what we’ve seen this has involved some bodybuilding style workouts …
… as well as some opportunities to try and replicate some of the movements from famous pictures of Arnold from the 70s.
He also posts a lot of videos of boxing training both with focus mitts and on a heavy bag, which is fantastic for fitness and conditioning.
He’s also known for his strong core, regularly posting impressive photos where he is performing the famous “dragon flag”.
Although Gabriel is 6 foot tall and is clearly in great shape, obviously he is nowhere near the size of Arnold from the previous movies in terms of overall muscle mass.
As such he’s unlikely to be a T800 model, and more likely to be a newer / more slender model, or perhaps a T1000 as played by Robert Patrick and Byung-Hun Lee.
No details on Gabriel’s diet have been released, but from his social media posts most of his meals look simple and well balanced (ignoring the rum from this photo!).
Fans of the original movies may be pleased to know that the reboot takes place immediately after Terminator 2 …
… and that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton are reprising roles.
Terminator 6 is due for release in November 2019.
