Anti- government protests have rocked Kenya this week and they have been populated by gen Z and millennials. These young men and women for the first time are taking a stand against what they feel as unjust and punitive practises by the Kenyan government. The demonstrations have no particular leader but have been organized by gen Z through online platforms. The young generation is now driving the conversation and action for change across the country and the first target is the finance bill. Will they sustain the demos or what’s next?
