Crazy Islamorada Mahi Fishing & Losing 10s of Thousands of Dollars in one day | Catch and Cook

We get on some crazy fishing action on the Islamorada humps where do some deep dropping and end up mahi fishing. Oh I also end up losing 10s of thousands of dollars during this mahi catch and cook fishing episode.

A few strange things happened in this fishing episode. I guess strange things happen in Key Largo, especially when you go from Key Largo to the Islamorada humps. Screw it all of Florida something strange is bound to happen, especially in South Florida.

Everything from deep dropping to falling in love to catching mahi mahi to doing a catch clean cook to losing thousands of dollars all in one day. Who knew that fishing south florida could be so crazy!

We head out to the Islamorada humps from Key Largo originally to do some deep dropping but end up running into the mahi mahi. That was a nice surprise! The mahi fishing was on fire! Our boat got so bloody it was amazing, it's always a good sign to have a bloody boat after mahi mahi fishing. You know it's going to be a mahi catch and cook at that point.

We didn't catch anything deep dropping, only a few hits. We will try deep dropping the islamorada humps again later next week so stay tuned for that fishing episode. Hopefully that deep dropping will be a catch clean cook with some bottom grouper.

But hey we can't complain when we have a mahi catch and cook! We clean the mahi 2 ways during the catch and cook, one where we pull the skin off and one where we cut the skin off the mahi mahi. You pick which mahi filleting style you prefer.
