Kotor in Montenegro (4K Drone Aerial 2025) is a city which is also known in Italian as Cattaro. Kotor was founded by Greeks who originally called their city Ἀσκρήβιον or Ascrivium and nicknamed it Katareo (warm waters) from which the name Cattaro and Kotor evolved. Kotor was part of almost all the European Empires in history. Kotor lies at the boundary of Western and Eastern Europe. The Romans, Byzantines, Venetians, Ottomans, French and the Habsburgs. Kotor has a permanent population of 12,500 but in the summer thousands of tourist stay at the magnificent 'Bay of Kotor'.
