A lot of my work in recent months has focused on mental health, particularly anxiety, which is something I've struggled with for most of my life. Writing poetry about my anxiety has been hugely helpful in both processing and coping with the things I've been through, and I'd love to know how poetry has helped you deal with your own mental health struggles.

This spoken word piece focuses on the idea of positivity, and how I've tried to keep a positive outlook on life, even when it feels like the whole world is on fire. As always, I'd love to know what you think.

Tell Me Something Good:

Tell me something good,
and let it build a home inside us.

Tell me when god opens a window
we're not on the thirteenth floor.

That your hands on my shoulders
are really wings, and it's not the falling that kills us.

Tell me the building isn't burning,
that we can turn our backs and the glow is really daybreak.

Tell me the night
is simply our shadow, leaving.

That the glinting steel is not a blade,
but only a portion of day, beckoning us to follow.
