According to classical mythology, Apollo, besides being the god of Music, is also associated with prophecy. Apollo's most famous association with prophecy is through the Oracle of Delphi. The Oracle, a woman named the Pythia, would go into a trance and deliver cryptic prophecies in Apollo's name!

This piece is actually the first fresh melodic idea I have had in quite a while, since the Herculean tasks of self-publishing across all the usual digital music platforms, my 2 LP albums for 2025, "Magic of the Kithara" & "Enchantment of the Tortoise Lyre". Like most of my original melodies for recreated ancient lyres, I generally start with some improvisatory ideas to maintain the feeling of spontatenous inspiration - usually right here on YouTube...then research some piece of ancient mythology to find a suitable title, which best emphasises the mood the initial improvisation.

As all my music is best described as 'aesthetic fiction' (created with the aim of evoking immersive 'time travel' through the magic of musical inspiration, in the same way a historical novelist uses language to evoke ancient worlds), I must admit that I find it so frustrating having to spend sometimes YEARS here on YouTube, having to 'defend' myself from attacks made in the video comments by what can best politely be described as 'fundamentalist religious types', who not being able to discern aesthetic fiction from fact, think my music is literal hymns to pantheons of ancient pagan deities and accuse me of worshipping false gods etc!
