Aliens: Colonial Marines by Gearbox Software, Timegate Studios, Nerve Studios, Check Six Games (and your mother's favorite aunt's dog's least favorite tick) has been called one of the worst games of all time and on launch I can absolutely believe it was. But some of that fan vitriol on launch was punitive, as the 2012 E3 Demo that aspiring magician, singer-songwriter, and one day I'll be a real boy Randy Pitchford couldn't stop gushing about how good this game was going to be while incredible looking footage played behind him. Turns out very little of that made it into the final product and what little looked far worse and was riddled with gameplay breaking bugs. Needless to say, the game was a huge flop. There are some glaring and obvious reasons why that we'll get into. But even though it's fair for this game to get slammed as disappointing, once it's been patched, does it earn its redemption arc as a perfectly fine video game? I think so, so let's get into why, starting....NOW!
