The encounter of the Pandavas with the short-tempered sage Durvasa is a captivating episode in the Mahabharata. During their exile in the forest, Draupadi, their wife, was faced with the daunting task of feeding their hungry guests, including Durvasa and his numerous disciples. With no food left, Draupadi prayed fervently to Lord Krishna for help. Krishna, ever the divine protector, intervened and ate a single grain of rice from Draupadi's vessel. This act fulfilled the hunger of Durvasa and his disciples, leaving them content.

துர்வாச முனிவருடன் பாண்டவர்களின் சந்திப்பு மகாபாரதத்தில் அவர்கள் காட்டில் வனவாச காலத்தில் நடந்தது, துர்வாசர் மற்றும் அவரது ஏராளமான சீடர்கள் உட்பட, பசித்திருந்த விருந்தினர்களுக்கு உணவளிக்கும் கடினமான பணியை திரௌபதி எதிர்கொண்டார். உணவு எதுவும் இல்லாத நிலையில், திரௌபதி கிருஷ்ணரிடம் உதவிக்காக உருக்கமாக வேண்டினாள். கிருஷ்ணர், எப்போதும் தெய்வீகப் பாதுகாவலர், தலையிட்டு திரௌபதியின் பாத்திரத்தில் இருந்து ஒரு அரிசியை சாப்பிட்டார். இச்செயல் துர்வாசருக்கும் அவரது சீடர்களுக்கும் பசியைப் போக்கியது.
