Enjoy another episode of The Cast Net Sniper!
This episode was planned out prior to filming, but I forgot to account for the tides. By the time I arrived at the filming location, the tides had blocked the access to the fishing grounds.
By great fortune, I stumbled onto a cast netters paradise located just out of site from the sandy bike path. This location was about to be run over by a tropical monsoon (a giant storm front was about to hit). I quickly approached this muddy little pond tucked between the hillside and the mangrove swamp and filmed a freshwater cast netting episode!
I put the Cast Net Sniper 10' Bottom Bag cast net to good use and deployed this big net several times until the rain finally hit! We got to see good action in this episode with a NEW species for the channel.
We also got to see tilapia, a softshell snapping turtle, some freshwater brim, and of course, some awesome net fishing!
Florida is ruthless when it comes to venturing off the beaten trail. You really take your safety into your own hands, so be prepared to come face to face with mother nature at a moment's notice. I will return to this location to sling my net again and complete the original mission.
